How Stanford Arrests Work
Stanford is the Lincoln County seat and its largest city. The 2020 Census put the population at 3,640. Stanford Police handles law enforcement inside the city. The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office covers the rest of the county, and Kentucky State Police can also make arrests. Court security at the Judicial Center adds one more path into custody. The agency that opens a case keeps the incident or arrest report.
There is no live city jail roster in Stanford. Lincoln County's own regional jail closed in 2019. County bookings happen at Pulaski County Detention Center, or PCDC. Booking is the intake step at the jail. It creates a custody record with charges, bond, and status, so a single Stanford arrest can leave both a city police report and a PCDC record.
The arresting agency and the jail keep separate records. Ask each office for its own documents.
Where Stanford Arrests Appear
Stanford Police publishes no daily bulletin, city arrest roster, or booking-photo feed. So the official routes split by record type. Ask the police department for its report, PCDC for who is in custody now, VINE for status alerts, and Kentucky Court of Justice for the case outcome. An empty roster is not the last word. It does not prove no arrest happened.
| Channel | Coverage | Photo | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stanford Police | City police contacts and report routing | No booking feed | Official |
| PCDC roster | People displayed in current regional custody | Public policy not confirmed | Official |
| VINELink | Available custody, release, and transfer alerts | Not a gallery | Officially supported |
| Lincoln courts | Case record and disposition | Not a booking source | Official |
| News and old indexes | Selected stories or historic copies | Sometimes story-specific | Unofficial |
Each source covers a different stage. A roster is not a complete Stanford arrest log. Once released, a person drops off the current custody list while the police and court records still exist. A sentence to state custody moves the person into the Kentucky Department of Corrections system, out of county-jail lookups.
Find a Stanford Arrest Booking
Follow the event from arrest to booking. One gap should not end the search. Lincoln County has no official same-day city feed, so a careful lookup uses several sources.
- Identify whether Stanford Police, LCSO, Kentucky State Police, or another agency made the arrest.
- Open the PCDC roster landing page and follow its current JailTracker link.
- Search the name and compare the details shown for a possible match.
- If the person is absent or the page fails, call PCDC at 606-678-0130 about that custody record.
- Request the incident or arrest report from the agency that created it.
- Check the Lincoln court file for later charges and disposition.
A missing PCDC result can have several causes. Intake may not be finished. A name may differ, release or transfer may have happened, or another system may hold the person. VINE can track a matching record, but it is not a full list of Stanford recent arrests, and the Daily Arrest Report explains the same-day limits.
Stanford Arrest Records Requests
Stanford has the county's clearest open-records route. The city clerk takes requests by mail, delivery, or email at 403 East Main Street, Stanford, KY 40484, and clerkallen@stanfordky.gov. Police requests go to Chief Zachary Middleton. Name the person, the date or narrow range, the location, the agency, and the exact document; electronic copies can be requested.

City policy requires a response within five days unless the search or record circumstances justify more time. No special booking-photo fee is listed. A separate body-camera form mentions seven to ten business days. That window belongs to camera records alone, not to any promise about an arrest report or photo.
Record custody stays divided. Stanford Police holds the police report. PCDC's open-records custodian, Capt. Kevin Russell, 300 Hail Knob Road, Somerset, KY 42503, handles jail intake material and booking photographs. The jail posts no confirmed photo policy or fee. Ask the custodian about availability and current cost.
Stanford Police Arrest Source
The official Stanford Police page provides the department’s identity, contact details, and public services.

The city page marks the starting point for report requests. It shows no arrest list, booking roster, or photo feed. Its BuyCrash route covers collision reports, not jail booking records.
Stanford Arrests Move Regionally
Lincoln's closed jail explains why the search crosses county lines. An officer can arrest someone in Stanford. Detention may still lead to PCDC in Somerset. The move does not transfer ownership of every document. Stanford Police still holds its own report. PCDC controls booking material, and Lincoln courts later hold the case record.
The old Lincoln Regional Jail name still lingers online. Its former domain is compromised and must not be used. Start at the current PCDC website. Its roster landing page leads to the dynamic JailTracker interface, which sometimes fails to load. A failed load is not proof of release.
Note: A roster entry ending may reflect release or transfer; it does not state the court’s final judgment.
Stanford Arrest News Context
Local reporting can add facts a custody row cannot. Lincoln County Daily News covers arrests, incidents, and court outcomes across the county. Lincoln County Central posts sheriff and crime reports, sometimes behind a subscription. The Interior Journal, a weekly, serves Stanford and Lincoln County. The Advocate-Messenger follows major regional cases. None publishes a complete Stanford booking blotter. The Interior Journal website offers broader local reporting.

News stories sit in a different category than a custody search. Editors pick what to cover. That choice leaves gaps. A photo attached to a Stanford story could come from the police, a court, another jail, or the newsroom itself. It may not be a PCDC booking photograph.
Some aging third-party Lincoln County indexes carried Stanford entries too. Those pages are secondary, often stale, and may skip how the case ended, so confirm any arrest event with the agency that handled it and rely on the court file for the outcome.
Stanford Arrest Court Outcomes
What happens after an arrest in Stanford? A case can move from the Lincoln County Detention Center into Lincoln District or Circuit Court once the person is released. The disposition is the court's recorded result. That might be a dismissal, a plea, an acquittal, or a final judgment. CourtNet offers a solid first look at Lincoln County case outcomes, though it runs behind real time and guest access may hide some closed cases.
For the official file, call Lincoln Circuit Court Clerk Angelia Doolin at 606-365-2535. Her office is operating temporarily from 104 Agriculture Way while the Judicial Center undergoes repairs. The permanent address remains 101 East Main Street. Call ahead to confirm where the counter is before you go, because a clerk's file, not a roster change or a news headline, is what settles how a Lincoln County arrest case ended.
Older Stanford Arrest Records
A current roster is not an archive. Older Stanford arrest records take more digging. For an old Stanford Police event, ask the department whether it still holds the report. Also ask which record series applies. For an old PCDC booking, contact its custodian. Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives retention schedules govern the underlying series. Those rules do not require an online photo to stay visible for the full retention term.
Sealed, expunged, juvenile, victim, medical, and active investigative material can be withheld. Keep each request narrow. Name the creating agency, the approximate date, the person, and the record type. If the police or jail no longer holds the item, ask whether it was transferred. It may instead have been lawfully destroyed. The Kentucky Court of Justice remains the separate source for the case outcome.
